Reflector is a non-greasy SPF 30 facial cream that is packed with skin superfoods to both protect and nourish. Shea butter, rice bran oil, and buriti oil provide deep hydration. Cocoon Apothecary has carefully formulated this SPF so that no white residue lingers on the face. This way, you don’t need to worry about looking like the moon while facing the sun. Although labeled as unscented, the product does have a hint of fragrance that reminds me of either play-doh or amaretto, I can’t decide. It’s not overwhelming and quickly disappears after application. I really love the lightweight texture of the cream, it’s definitely non-greasy and doesn’t seem to budge once evenly blended in. Be careful though, as a little bit of product will go a very long way due to the formula’s spreadability.
Here’s a little secret. The BEST part about Reflector, which I have really come to love, is that it works just like an Instagram filter! I have worn this alone without any makeup on several occasions and was pleasantly surprised to see a soft-focus, airbrushed effect. I find that it helps to blur minor skin imperfections to promote a naturally radiant, healthy complexion #winning. If I was the product developer, I would vote to name this, Perfector.
I highly recommend using Reflector as a daily SPF, either after your favorite moisturizer, on its own, or under makeup. Cocoon Apothecary recommends applying Reflector 15 minutes prior to sun exposure and reapplying at least every 2 hours thereafter. It comes in a gorgeous amber pump bottle adorned with a canary floral label that’s perfectly sized to fit in your purse – just be mindful of the glass bottle!
